We are looking for a VISIONARY Director of People and Operations to help us oversee the strategic direction and management of The Vegan Gym team and our online coaching program, the Vegan Superhero Academy.

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Director of People and Operations is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic direction and management of our team and operational processes. This role is pivotal in fostering a high-performance culture, streamlining operations, and ensuring the alignment of our people strategy with our business goals.
This role requires a dynamic, innovative professional who is passionate about helping people. To succeed in this position, you must be a go-getter who can quickly create and implement solutions to complex problems with minimal guidance.
In this role, you would join The Vegan Gym’s Leadership Team and work alongside our Chief Operations Officer to build an elite team, optimize operations, and enhance client satisfaction. This position will report to the Chief Operations Officer of The Vegan Gym.

Key Responsibilities

Your mission is multi-faceted, focusing on nurturing a vibrant, high-performance culture that's as healthy as the lifestyle we promote.
Your Key Objectives:
Build and Develop an Elite, Cohesive Team:
Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture within the organization.
Identify talent needs, oversee recruitment efforts, and implement strategies for staff development and retention.
Develop and refine recruitment strategies to attract top talent aligned with our mission and values.
Implement retention programs and initiatives to maintain a motivated and committed workforce.
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in talent management.
Ensure all team members are aligned with the company's mission, values, and objectives.
Oversee our human resources with a compassionate, yet strategic approach. You'll ensure our policies are as employee-friendly as they are effective, keeping our team motivated, engaged, and thriving.
Lead our Operations Team:
Provide leadership and direction to the Operations Team (currently 3 team members), ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in all processes.
Manage other cross-functional teams to achieve operational excellence and meet organizational goals.
Lead our Client Experience Team:
Develop and maintain a client-centric approach to resolving issues and enhancing satisfaction.
Implement effective communication channels and processes for clients to provide feedback and receive support.
Collaborate with various departments to address and resolve client concerns promptly and effectively.
Manage Company Retreat Planning:
Coordinate the planning and execution of company retreats and events that align with our mission and values.
Oversee logistics, budgeting, and programming to ensure successful and impactful retreats.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to create memorable and transformative experiences for staff and clients.
Continuous Improvement and Process Management:
Conduct regular audits of internal processes to identify areas of waste and inefficiency.
Implement sustainable practices and cost-saving measures without compromising quality or service.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and resourcefulness throughout the organization.
Lead initiatives for process optimization and innovation across all departments.
Establish metrics and benchmarks for measuring efficiency and effectiveness.
Encourage feedback and ideas from all team members to drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
To be eligible for this role, applicants must:
Be vegan 🌱
Be 100% aligned with our Core Values
Have 5+ years of director-level leadership experience, preferably in the health, wellness, or related industry.
Be available and fully present during normal business operating hours: Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm CST. Must be flexible and able to work additional hours/weekends/holidays if the situation warrants it.
Be able to self-direct, motivate, and manage your time effectively.
Have experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers and teams.
Have excellent communication skills, both with customers and cross-departmentally.
Have the ability to communicate changes, recommendations, and strategies to senior leadership effectively.
Have the ability to learn quickly and execute at a high level with both speed and accuracy.
Have experience creating, improving upon, and delivering against KPIs and SOPs.
Be able to handle difficult conversations regarding upset customers and de-escalate those situations.
Be entirely comfortable and confident building and nurturing remote teams.
Have excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and decision-making abilities.
Bring extensive experience in operations management, process improvement, and team development.
Be highly competitive and on FIRE to make a massive impact in the world!

COMMUNICATION CYCLE
DAILY
Communications on high-priority Client Success items via Slack with the Chief Operations Officer.
Long-form questions or requests, as well as low-priority items, are consolidated as best possible and communicated to the Chief Operations Officer during weekly 1:1 with the potential for follow-up via Asana and/or Slack.
WEEKLY
End of Week (EOW) Report is delivered to the Chief Operations Officer by EOD (5 pm CST) on Fridays
Attends Weekly 1:1, prepared, with the Chief Operations Officer.
Facilitates weekly 1:1 with all team members who directly report to you.
Attends all Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual meetings as requested.
CHAIN OF COMMUNICATION
Search within all content/materials provided or available to retrieve an answer or way of resolving the situation
Reach out to peers to gain insight into the situation and see if a resolution can be found
If still unresolved, reach out to the Chief Operations Officer regarding the situation (using methods of communication in line with priority)
Follow up with the Chief Operations Officer in a timely manner based on the priority of the request, and continue to do so until a resolution is found.

COMPENSATION
A competitive salary ($80,000 to $100,000 USD) that is reflective of your experience and the role's significant responsibilities, with annual performance bonuses.
