Director of people and operations

Kira's life has been a journey of aligning her actions with her values. A lifelong animal advocate, she embraced vegetarianism at 14 and later transitioned to veganism after both a personal exploration of the dairy industry and a challenge to her fitness goals (She was told she would never meet her fitness goals on a vegan diet-and doesn’t like being told she can’t do something! 😉). While animal welfare remains her core motivation, Kira also champions the health benefits and positive environmental impact of a vegan lifestyle.

With over 20 years in leadership and operations within animal welfare organizations, Kira brings a wealth of experience. Her combined BA and MS in Integrated Marketing Communications further equip her to make a significant impact. Her expertise extends beyond compassion – she's a seasoned professional with a proven track record. As a former Executive Director, she spearheaded operational growth, financial strength, and impactful marketing initiatives. She's organized countless events, fostered positive workplace culture, and championed lifesaving efforts, all with a strategic mind.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kira is a champion for health and human connection. A firm believer in preventative health, Kira is passionate about the powerful connection between food and well-being, and how movement fuels longevity. She advocates for a shift towards empowering individuals through education, enabling them to make informed choices for a healthy lifestyle. Beyond her passion for animals, Kira cherishes human connection, finding joy in sharing experiences and fostering a sense of community.

Kira enjoys weightlifting and views the gym as a place to be present, challenge herself, and connect mind and body.  Kira also enjoys CrossFit, Kickboxing, and Yoga.  Outside of the gym, she finds joy in spending time at the beach (her happy place), biking, hiking, paddleboarding, kayaking, exploring nature with her dog, traveling and volunteering.
